Within the BEAM21 project a number of 423 partcipants from 59 cities have been trained in all partner countries. Where it was useful and on demand of the course groups a meeting between the course groups was organized. For the decision maker’s course participants from a large variety of parties could be mobilized, i.e. discussions in the course functioned as a micro copy of the discussions and arguments in the municipal councils. Staff came from different departments of the municipalities, so that the cross-sectoral approach of the course was reflected as well in the shape of the course groups. Result analysis was made after the courses. At the end of the training course the municipal intentions were documented, at the end of the project it was assessed which actions were taken as result of the training and documented in the result report attached to the final report. About 30 out of the 59 cities discuss concrete energy measures in their cities, i.e. 200% more cities where concrete results can be displayed than intended. Seven cities work on an SEAP at the end of the project, further ones are expected till the end of 2013.
